Oceanwide Logistics and Compliance Applications to Meet Customs 10+2 Requirements

Montreal, Quebec March 31st, 2008 – Oceanwide Inc., A leading provider of Software as a Service applications to International Freight Forwarders, US Customs Brokers and Importers, today announced that it will support Importers reporting requirements proposed by US Customs and Border Protection know as the ”10+2 Rule”.

The proposed rule, published on January 2, 2008 in the Federal register, will require that ten data elements be provided by Importers 24 hours prior to container loading for vessel departures and that two data elements be provided by ocean carriers no later than 48 hours after vessel departure. These data elements will be used for security and enhanced targeting by CBP.

Oceanwide is a leader in US Customs ABI filing through its Editrade Customs Link application now used by hundreds of brokers and importers and is a natural fit for the additional 10+2 functionality. Oceanwide’s ForwarderLogic and stand alone AMS applications will also be enhanced to capture and submit the additional data elements to CBP.

“We are well positioned with our suite of applications to assist importers in meeting the new requirement whether they choose to submit the data themselves or work through brokers and overseas agents.” Said Jonathan Wasserman, COO of Oceanwide.
